Namratha Prasad

Namratha is an accomplished Indian singer, vocal coach, and music producer whose work spans Kannada music, Sugama Sangeetha, Hindustani classical, and contemporary Indian genres. Her songs and covers are available on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Deezer, and iHeartRadio.

Widely recognized for her performance on Indian Idol Season 3, Namratha has built a music career of over 25 years, performing at more than 450 live concerts, 150 radio shows, and 35 virtual events. She has collaborated on albums with celebrated musicians such as C. Ashwath and Praveen D Rao. Her contributions to music have earned her the Aryabhata Award and the honorary title “Gana Kogile” from the Karnataka Writers’ Guild.

Namratha began her vocal training at age four under C.K. Thara (All India Radio) and later pursued Hindustani classical music with Pandit Nagalingaiah Vastradmatt. She also trained in Sugama Sangeetha under Narahari Dixith, shaping her distinctive style and artistic depth.

Since 2003, she has been a dedicated vocal coach, teaching Kannada Sugama Sangeetha and training more than 55 students worldwide.

 

As a skilled music producer, she has composed and produced soundtracks for short films such as Kay Sara Sara and Asatoma, in addition to releasing original music through the Swabhava Toronto platform.

Her digital presence continues to grow, with her YouTube channel surpassing 1 million views and her Spotify audience reaching 7,000+ monthly listeners. She is known for her high-quality music covers, vocal tutorials, and engaging musical content.
